About us

Established in 2013, the team at Kihikihi Garage have always believed in the value of building genuine relationships with each one of our customers.

So, to do right by our people, we’ve built a business that provides vehicle servicing, repairs, WOFS and safety inspections - and does so with our customers’ safety as an absolute priority.

As we’ve spoken to our customers about their vehicles over the years, we’ve learned that a lot of people are concerned about how they can keep their car running safely over a long period of time, without breaking the bank.

More than anything, we know most people just want to know that their job will be completed quickly and conscientiously, and that they’ll be treated with understanding and respect.

All of this has led the team at Kihikihi Garage to create a business which gives our customers an easy, friendly and genuine experience - from start to finish.

MEET THE TEAM

Meet owners John & Danielle of Kihikihi Garage. Automotive mechanics on Leslie Street, Kihikihi, Te Awamutu

JOHN & DANIELLE

Hey! We are John and Danielle – a husband and wife team who brought Kihikihi Garage in 2013. At the time we didn’t even know Kihikihi had a mechanical workshop even though we lived here. We met through a passion for cars, especially classic cars.

We have extended our family so with a bit of a reshuffle, John runs the day-to-day operations, mechanic/WOF inspector. John has over 18 years experience in the trade. First car was a Mk5 Cortina. Danielle manages all things business related amongst being a mum. Danielle has 14 years experience in the trade from being on the tools, parts, sales and everything it takes to run a business.

ANDREW

Hi, I’m Andrew. I joined John and Danielle at Kihikihi Garage as a mechanic/ WOF inspector in 2015. I have over 27 years experience in the Automotive trade. I have been tinkering on cars for a while, in fact I had so many cars as a teenager I came home one day and my father had organised a wrecker to take them all away. My first car was a 1964 Vauxhall Velox. Music and electronics are a couple of hobbies I enjoy.

Meet Bailey, mechanic & WOF inspector of Kihikihi Garage. Automotive mechanics on Leslie Street, Kihikihi, Te Awamutu

BAILEY

Hi, I'm Bailey. I joined the team at Kihikihi Garage at the end of March 2022 as an Apprentice Mechanic. I've been in the automotive trade for about 5 years. My Grandad is a mechanic so that's where I got my drive from.
Bailey enjoys swimming, fishing, dirt bikes and renovating. Bailey and Shelley are currently renovating a 1970s house.

Fun Fact: Bailey's grandfather and John worked together as mechanics for about 8 years!!

Meet Julie, service administrator. Automotive mechanics on Leslie Street, Kihikihi, Te Awamutu

JULIE

Hi, I'm Julie. I joined the Kihikihi Garage team in April 2023 as a Service Administrator. I will most likely be the person at the end of the phone line taking all your bookings and enquiries. I am new to the Automotive Industry but have been an administrator in many different industries.

I was born in Waihi and been in Te Awamutu for 25 years.

Julie enjoys mountains and beaches. She loves spending time with her family. She brings some good banter and a cheerful face to our team. Although new to the Automotive Industry and won't be seen changing your brakes, she will definitely be the friendly face in the office and keeping our administrative duties up to scratch lol.
